About Speleotastic

Speleotastic is an cave registry engine built for cavers and caving organisations.

The project grew out of grottor.se, the Swedish cave registry maintained by the Swedish Speleological Society (SSF). What started as a single-country database evolved in 2026 into a platform capable of powering cave registries for multiple organisations and countries.

Goals#

• Make cave data more accessible to the public and caving communities, while letting each organisation control what is shared openly and what remains members-only
• Provide a modern, multilingual platform that organisations can adopt for their own cave registries
• Preserve and share speleological knowledge across borders

Technology#

Speleotastic is a web application built with Nuxt and Cloudflare Workers, and D1.
